So yeah this works great on the Corvette C5 where it's purely plug and play in terms of wiring. There is a downside. The key cylinder is beveled inwards instead of outwards like the original, so the plastic key ring prevents the key from going all the way into the cylinder. You not only need to trim the factory car cover, but also use a grinding tool to enlarge the circle of the keyhole on the plastic part. Fits great afterwards. Finally, the VAT sensor is no longer used. So if you're measuring the resistance on your key, you can either adjust it if you know what you're doing, or get a VAT bypass kit, just plugging the resistor into the little white wire harness and you're good to go . . All in all, I now have two new keys and a high-quality lock cylinder for just under 50 euros. Really no complaints
