I don't think I've ever written a product review within hours of receipt/use. I noticed that most of the people buying this card lately are video gamers and people who are interested in video streaming. I'm a video editor, both professionally and as an amateur. My current video editing installation consists of Avid Media Composer 8.8.5. I'm running this on an older system. My motherboard is an 8-9 year old Asus P6T Deluxe V2. I'm still using Windows 7 (Ultimate 64). My multimedia (video) drives consist of internal SATA2 Seagate Barracuda drives, external FireWire drives (400 and 800) and lastly external USB 3.0 drives (newly added card). Most of the content I edit is 1080p and 720p. About 5 years ago I bought a Matrox MX02 mini with a Max PCI Express + breakbox card to be able to output to an external HDMI monitor. Although the MX02 came in a neat little box, I was never able to get it to work properly with Avid Media Composer. At the time I had versions 5 and 6 and the MX02 was very buggy. Five years later I ordered an Intensity Pro 4k a few days ago. I remembered hearing about the original Intensity Pro when I bought my MX02. Anyway, after reading a few reviews and watching as many YouTube videos as possible, I took the plunge and bought the card. I have to say I can't remember the last time I installed a video capture/editing card that worked the first time. I inserted the card, installed the software, rebooted, made some settings in the Blackmagic Desktop Video setup program and launched Media Composer. Everything worked for me. What can I say? I find him very responsive. The picture quality it sends to my "client monitor" (22 inch Samsung TV) is excellent in my opinion. I drew some masks with Avid's Animatte effect and dragged the points of the mask to update them in real time on the monitor. The only recording I've made so far is a test with one of my DVD players (component) output to SD (DV25). I haven't tried HD material yet, so for now I can only rate the card as a playback device. I also didn't try to shoot in 4k. Overall, I really like this card and its functionality with Avid Media Composer. I hope this review is helpful for other people who are hesitant to buy this map. In the next few days I would like to test the possibility of recording maps in HD resolution. If I come across anything good or bad I will update this review. Many Thanks. 01/26/2020After updating to Windows 10, the latest version of Media Composer and the latest Black Magic software, the card no longer works properly. When I launch Media Composer, the Intensity Pro 4k option turns grey. I can no longer stream video from my timeline to the client monitor. I'm still looking for a solution. 2/9/20 Turned out I was using the latest drivers, which I believe were the latest version of Media Composer. I was wrong. Once I downloaded the (really) latest version of Media Composer, it works as it should.
