Purchased for iPhone repair. It does a great job of holding small screws in place so they don't get lost while you work. I usually use repair guides on iFixit.com which have step-by-step instructions. I love that you can write the step number on each box so you can remember where the screws go in that box when you assemble the unit. Others note that this mat does not hold larger screws like those used in computers. I agree it won't. However, this mat is not designed for screws of this size. It's designed to hold tiny screws used in smartphones, which it does very well. I even dropped the screw on the mat and it stayed in place. So if you want to repair your smartphone, this pad is very useful for tracking screws.
