I have ordered a reversing camera when my new radio arrives. When I got my radio and it was time to hook up the backup camera, I ran a red wire from the camera to the hot side of my reverse light, then I routed the black wire to ground on the reverse light. I connected one end of the red pigtail to the hot side of the backup light and the other red pigtail to the purple backup camera signal wire on the back of my radio. I turned on the truck to see if it worked and it worked. But the image on the screen was worshiped! So I did a little reading and found that in the manual the red wire from the camera is GND and the black wire from the camera is HOT. Contrary to anything I've ever been taught, I wired the camera the way the instructions told me and the camera didn't work. I returned it to its original condition and nothing. Hope I get a refund, definitely big time waist.
