We have a three story house with a steep staircase. We have an Oreck and Canister on the first floor and these are for the lower and upper floors. Good on hardwood, decent on carpet, decent on carpeted stairs. Loads of suction and a cord that handles each of our spaces without leaving the center plug. Much easier than carrying an oreck up and down stairs. The brush head is smaller than the Oreck but is great for the space it takes up. We live in the middle of nowhere and cannot get a commercial cleaning service here. So, I vacuum and vacuum, my wife cleans the bathrooms and we sort of share a kitchen. I've been doing this for many years. I know my vacuum cleaners are good. You can buy an adapter for less than $7 that will allow you to use standard size earbuds.
