At a glance: This wireless adapter worked right out of the box. I connected it to a Windows 10 computer and had no problems connecting to my Asus RT-N66U router. I can connect to both 2.4GHz and 5GHz channels. Long story (in case it helps anyone else with my old adapter): I've used a Qualcomm Atheros AR938x Wi-Fi adapter in Windows 7 for years with no problems. However, Microsoft's forced update to Windows 10 caused problems with my GFX card (constant crashes) and, as I found out, with my WiFi adapter. I got a new router around the same time as the upgrade and for a few months I would lose connection intermittently thinking it was a router that needed a reset. I rebooted the router and everything worked fine again. It was a little annoying, but after the last Windows updates I started noticing it every hour or so. Since my other devices were working fine, I finally figured out that it was my PC's problem and not the router's. I bought this adapter on Friday evening, it was delivered on Sunday afternoon and has been working without problems for two weeks. It saved me from a lot of frustration caused by Microsoft always finding new ways to push me further and further away.
