It's a noisy little piece of junk. I used to have a couple of Powkoo sponge filters but this is the worst of the worst. I really hate that noisy filter, no it doesn't emit little bubbles at all, it does nothing but big loud bubbles no matter how much flow you put on your air pump. disappointed with this product. Powkoo, you really need to improve your game, it's a little piece of junk, don't buy it! I am adding to my original review. I just got an email from the seller of this sponge filter and all they could tell me to fix this problem was to stick an air stone in the riser If you don't know how to use a sponge filter then you shouldn't be in the fish hobby. I felt disrespected of their email and will file a complaint about this, this filter makes noise when you put it on. The low air setting will not pump water through the filter if you set it to a high setting. Depending on what type of pump you have, it will make noise and it will be loud. It's so simple I don't need it. The company told me how to connect a simple sponge filter. Anyway, I've been doing this for over 25 years, this is my last review and I'm letting all my fellow anglers know that this filter is not good, I will not buy it again and I will never buy anything from this company again because they were disrespectful to me, a happy fish holding all my female and male amateur peers and anything in between - god bless you
