Review on Chefn FreshForce Potato Ricer Press by Kim Major

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ratchet hinges are a great idea.

I searched for rivers for a long time before I bought this one. I finally settled on this one because I noticed that when the risers fail, they appear to be in a loop. The ratchet design not only offered better leverage when pulling, but seemed to be able to take more pressure without fail. I have to admit this is the first rice cutter I've ever used so I can't compare it. I can assure you that it is very solidly built and very easy to roast potatoes with. In addition, the basket can be easily pulled out for cleaning, which is very convenient. There are a few places where the design could be improved. I would like to be able to purchase additional baskets with different sized holes for roasting foods like coarse textured apples. Also, standing this rice cooker on its top for refilling is a little awkward as there is nothing to keep it sticking to the edge of the bowl. You just have to learn how to hold and balance it. None of these shortcomings are enough to lower my score on this point. It produces very good rice potatoes without much effort and the construction is very solid. I can't imagine this riser breaking.
