Some squares don't work. Aggravating.

I saw this complaint about Excalibur chess products on the internet after experiencing it myself. In my case the H8 square didn't work. Every time I had to castle on the kingside, the computer wouldn't let me continue. For those of you looking to buy this, the chess computer requires you to click (either on a piece or a finger) on the start and finish squares when a move is made. So when I say the square doesn't work, I mean the computer doesn't recognize clicking on that square. I returned mine. DB Roth was kind enough to refund me even though I was past the return date. Revain paid half the cost of returning it. So I can't say I was very dissatisfied with the return. Notice to future buyers of this product. Don't buy this. I was lucky to find this problem on a course that moves a lot. It is quite possible that other sets would have problems on squares where moves are not made as often. You don't want to notice this after 3-4 months of owning the board, especially if you're buying it to play occasionally from time to time. In my case, I bought it for my son's education. After this experience, I decided to buy a more expensive chess computer - Novag Aquamarine through Revain. I'll write a review about it as soon as I have it. I found a user who had a similar complaint about one of Saitech's cheap chess computers, so I got wary and stayed away from them as well. Novag Aquamarine has no reviews. I hope I have better luck this time. I say this because I even saw a good review on one of these chess computers, they say they loved it even though the field presses stopped working after the first two weeks. I'm sure I wouldn't like it. After all, it looks like getting one of these chess computers would be a bit of a gamble. I was also considering buying a car sensor board but decided against it. I could only find one called the Novag Citrine, which costs $150 and isn't available from Revain. While I haven't seen any serious complaints about it, I've decided not to buy it. These auto touch boards do not require presses as the parts have magnets and I believe the square is capable of accommodating the magnets. This means that several things can go wrong with these boards. In addition to the fact that the square has deteriorated, it is possible that the magnet fell off a bit or lost its magnetization. The main reasons why I bought a chess computer:-1. Don't let my son use the computer to play chess - don't let him strain his eyes. He watches too much TV anyway. IMHO.2. I'm not good at chess, I want him to learn and grow by playing against a worthy opponent from the start.3. He doesn't have to rely on me or my wife to play chess. When he's with friends, they don't really want to play chess.
