Update for connections: I did not connect any DP adapters directly to the KVMP box as in the diagram shown here the web site, mine comes with two cables that come with the unit. They connect to the back of the KVMP device and the other ends go directly to the computers. Monitor, mouse, keyboard, microphone and speakers connect directly to the KVMP unit. A computer connects via VGA only, so the blue connector of the included cable plugs directly into the back of the computer (the small pink and green connectors also plug into the computer) and the other end into the back of the KVMP box; The other computer only has a DP connection, so I use one of the included DP adapters, plugged into the back of the computer, and then plug the blue end of the cable into the DP adapter (the little pink and green plugs aren't needed, since my speakers are connected). directly into this computer as I don't need it on another computer) so just plug them in and leave them unplugged - or you can plug them in and then connect the speakers directly to the KVMP device) the other end of the connector lies directly on the KVMP device. 08/26/17: I have a VGA computer (i.e. connection) and a DP computer, I connected both to a KVMP box with a monitor and can switch back and forth, everything works great. What is included in the scope of delivery is sufficient for the VGA display. .but you need an extra cable not designed for display on a DP computer. My monitor has VGA and DP connectors, but since the KVMP box only has a VGA connector cable, that connects to my monitor, and then of course that adds a USB monitor that goes from the monitor to the iogear box, to view DP video.
