Review on 🚘 Enhance Vehicle Safety with Raybestos BC95408 Professional Grade Parking Brake Cable by Mark Jefferson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fits standard 2005 Ford Ranger cab. Installation instructions below.

Fits 2005 Ford Ranger regular cab (maybe others but I have one). The parking brake cable consists of several sections; This connects the foot pedal through the floor panel to a cable under the truck. This cable seems to be of very good quality and I am happy with it. It was difficult to remove and install, but it is obvious that this is a Ford issue, not the manufacturer of this part. Some online forums suggest replacing the entire parking brake assembly, but this is not the case. Having never done this before, I removed the entire assembly, locked the pedal in place with a screwdriver (there's a slot for that), and "run" through the cogs with two screwdrivers to snap the end of the cable into place bring so I could remove it from my seats and install a new one. I don't know if it was necessary to remove the entire assembly, but I went this route because I didn't know how everything fit together. If I ever had to do this again (doubting a quality cable replacement) I would try to do this without removing the assembly now that I know how it works. I'm not a pro but I managed to do it so it's possible if you have the skills to do minor car repairs.
