Review on ๐Ÿ” Glass Polishing Kit: Cerium Oxide Polishing Powder with Felt Polishing Wheel Set for Windscreen & Glass by Bart Schwalbe

Works as advertised but takes time

I bought a new car and obviously wanted to keep it clean. After a week of driving, I went to clean the windshield of insect entrails. I used a regular kitchen sponge and used (what I thought) the slightly rough side of the sponge. When I was done, I got in the car and noticed about a dozen scratches on the windshield where I had removed the bug guts. Who would have thought that an ordinary kitchen sponge could scratch glass. I took it to a windshield repair shop and was told there was nothing they could do but replace the windshield and there was no way to remove the scratches. I did some research online and decided to try this product before replacing my windshield. The work took about six hours (more than three days), but in the end the scratches were fixed. The kit had everything you need and more. All I used was cerium oxide, felt pads (although due to many scratched spots I needed more than what came in the kit) and a drill adapter. Didn't want to try to use sandpaper. There were no scratch marks to be seen. The stains in the window take a long time to polish, but it worked. I'm very happy with the results, but prepare to work for a while and clean up the mess it creates.
