Review on πŸ“Ά Enhanced Omnidirectional WiFi Router Double Helix Antenna for Reliable High-Speed Dual-Band Connectivity (5m Range) by Joshua Ngo

They absolutely did not work as intended for me.

availability So I tried two methods. I tried connecting a few of these to my real router. (with different combinations) I also tried connecting this directly to my WIFI network card. (My results are broadly applicable to both applications). So the physical size of the connection worked fine, the connection was good and tight. the power bandwidth of the connection dropped that at 12dBi I was a little shocked that it performed worse than the standard small antennas I had to work with. My results never stopped shocking me. After I managed to connect to these, (both direct connections are 2.4 and 5GHz). I started doing online speed tests. My speed dropped 2/3 more on almost every exit (compared to the stock antenna). Worst result? I've actually gotten better test speeds when the antenna isn't connected to my NIC than when it's installed. (Admittedly I was testing pretty close to the router at this point, but it still shouldn't be) Came back with no problems and got another one. No questions.

Pros
  • double helix antenna, pure copper generator signal is stronger. Copper core wire is durable and has good mechanical properties. Make sure the antenna can withstand some impact and will not wear out quickly.
