I've built literally thousands of wheels over the past 45 years and have used spokes from a wide variety of manufacturers over the past 45 years. I have previously used this brand in both a new build/rebuild process and as a replacement for individual spokes for repairs. I have always had good experiences with Bavel needles and my recent purchase was no exception. The head diameter of the spoke flange at the end of the J-bend is consistent and the correct diameter compared to some other brands I've used (because a smaller flange will eventually result in bushing cable failure). , and the length of the spokes always corresponded to deviations of less than 1 mm. In addition, the J-bend radius is sufficient for use on hubs with thicker flanges. Some of the other brands I have used have insufficient bend radius which can cause binding when inserting the spoke into the hub flange and rotating the spoke against the rim. The finish on the spokes and spoke nipples is very good and I haven't had any problems with corrosion on any part. No problems with the rounding of the nipples when tightening to the desired tension. In situations where I have cut and rewound thread on my Phil Wood needleloom to make a shorter needle, the resulting thread quality from the cut needle has been very good. I have no hesitation in using these spokes on every wheel I build. Good value for money!
