This USB 3.0 Gen 1 Type-C hard drive docking station is compact compared to similar docking stations I've used and has decent transfer speeds which can depend on the quality of cable used (I explain below ). Transfer Speed: Tested with 1TB WD Blue SSD - 412Mbps write and 428Mbps read. I get the same speeds with the short 20 inch cable that comes with the kit and the longer 3 foot cable that I purchased separately. If you need more length I would suggest using a good quality "USB-IF Certified" at least 10Gbps Gen 2. I used a longer and cheaper USB Type-C cable and my transfer rate dropped to 38Mbps when writing and 42Mbps when reading. , then I bought a 3ft USB IF certified 2nd Gen 10Gbps cable and all was good. Put two drives in the dock and show them as two separate drives on my desktop. I haven't tried the dock's cloning feature since I've been using software to clone my drives. Overall I would recommend this docking station.
