Review on 🔌 BLACK+DECKER Grinder 6.5 Amp BDEG400 by Roger King

Received this with the intention of using it to cut through a 'kryptonite' U-shaped bike lock. As it only comes with one grinding wheel I bought a set of 5 cutting wheels which Revain says are often bought in combination with a grinder. Unfortunately, I didn't heed the advice of another reviewer, who pointed out that the grinder's manual states that ***Type 1 discs cannot be used.*** Instead, only Type 27 discs are allowed for safety reasons to do with how the wheel sits in the shelter. Unfortunately, the commonly purchased pack of 5 wheels doesn't give a clear picture of the wheel, and there's no mention of a 'type' number in the description. Now that I have them, the disks are actually labeled Type 1. So I just ordered a Type 27 cut-off wheel. For the uninformed (like me) it is easy to assume that the Type 1 and Type 27 cut-off wheels are the same 4.5" diameter and 0.045" thickness, they must be in the be the same size. However, after some research, I found out that Type 1 is a flat disc, while Type 27 has a raised part in the middle, making it sit deeper in the protective case.
