Review on Black Rugged Ridge 18003.12 Skid Plate for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ Steering Box by Zach Flores

I ordered this sled because the TJ's steering box is in the perfect spot to be ripped apart on the track. The discount arrived in perfect condition and installation was fairly easy.The included nut with tack welded extension was the hardest part of the installation - trying to thread it onto the screw holding the end of the 8" wire took about 20 minutes before I finally got it got it right. If you're less patient than I am, you might consider clamping and welding it along that tongue. Without a bolt the skid box won't attach securely to the frame - believe me I've thought about it. I haven't got one yet Opportunity to test it so can't speak on its durability but it is just as thick and feels just as durable as any other a On the market so I'm very satisfied for the money and the peace of mind.
