It seems to me that this purchase was ambiguous. We have 2 switchers in our family and tend to have fairly long gaming sessions on the weekends. Unfortunately, something always breaks, whether it's the console's battery because we're playing on a portable device, or the joysticks if we're playing on a dock. Now in. Watch out for the charging handle. I bought 2, sent one to my friend when he was out of town and one to myself, both were delivered same day and so far we have used them once together. At first glance they looked great. On/off switch for switching the battery on and off as well as a battery indicator and joystick charge indicator. The handle itself is slightly larger than the standard handle that came with the console. We thought it would be great and more comfortable in our hands. After attaching the joysticks, we found that they sit slightly higher than the standard grip on a flat surface. Ultimately, this means the grip itself is larger and the joycons are placed higher, giving thumbs more stretch to reach anything comfortably. I have small hands so it affected me more than my boyfriend but we both had some difficulties when we played last night. In particular, we found it almost impossible to drift comfortably in Mario Kart 8. Now that's only after a single use, so there's a definite possibility it'll be a lot easier to use once we get used to the controller, but uncomfortable for now. Which can lead me to using my regular butt grip until it starts to die leaving me with no choice but to use the charging grip. What is good. Changing grips is a little annoying, but better than the alternative, and these grips cost about half the price of the original charging grip, which doesn't have a built-in battery.
