Over the years we have tested many ultrasonic cold mist humidifiers for our iguana habitats (they don't last long when used this way). In our experience, all American humidifiers are essentially the same: an ultrasonic device that turns water into a fine mist, a cheap $3-5 fan that blows that mist up and down, and a water tank. The rest revolves around comfort, aesthetics and bells and whistles. This is the first that we didn't have to install. The dual hose feature is really good. They stretch very far and despite using the included splitter, a small amount of mist is emitted. And it certainly beats stuffing your washing machine hoses into not-so-tight holes (the last rig job we did). It just went into production today, so I can't comment on durability, but like all humidifiers in the US, I don't expect it to last much more than a year or two. I would give it 5 stars but honestly I think $55 is a bit much when you can get a similar branded device with a large tank (also top filled) for $35. I was hoping the result would make up for this (by providing more). Its production is no more than your typical $35 unit.
