This item was bought to use as a stand alone DAC/Headphone amp. I have two different tube amps I wished to pair with this device. I did not get to the tube amps. The sound is so compressed. I stopped the trial. I am returning this item. This is a cheaply made product with poor quality.The Fiio product I own which is here: FiiO E12A Mont Blanc IEM Special Edition Portable Headphone Amp, Titanium provides a better sound, though it can not adequately power a tube headphone amplifier.
