Review on Dorman 749 468 Driver Window Regulator by Maurice Stavros

Was able to repurchase although the Dorman regulator failed after 3 years of minimal use the same as the OEM BMW regulators in the original car {where BOTH tailgate regulators (left and right) - were DEFECTIVE (!) in just 6 years Operation by the previous owner! }. The BMW regulator design sucks - a known fact on this question. Did you have design kids? Probably. A fair question, probably at best recent engineering school graduates and poor leadership of the project team to validate designs before releasing designs to production. Dorman had to follow BMW design for form, fit and function, and they worked - for a while. To be honest, it's not so much Dorman's fault for their product's failure as it is BMW's. It's a shame to punish the messenger - in this case, Dorman.
