My dealer charges about $35 for a $5 filter change that only takes 5 minutes. On my Crosstrek you just have to open the hood, insert the clamp, remove the air hose from the holder, pull the old one, insert the new one, put the air hose back on and reinstall the clamp. My gas mileage improved, my acceleration improved, and it only cost me a few bucks and a few minutes. There's no reason not to do some of it yourself!
