I had high hopes for this peephole, especially after reading other good reviews. Maybe I caught a dud. The item I received had adhesive holding the front of the lens in place even though it was threaded. I noticed it during installation, but didn't think anything of it. A few days later the eye broke. My guess is that it shrunk in cold weather and there wasn't enough glue/adhesive to hold it together. I found the front lens on the floor outside, and when I took the case off the door and checked what was going on, the threaded rod was too short for the front lens to have enough threads to hook it on (so it had some glue on it). it). on the subject). I couldn't put it back on until I got the lenses out completely so it was a quality control issue as the sizing was wrong. Note that this item has one lens that screws onto the front and then a second piece that screws onto the back of the door. It had nothing to do with the thickness of my door (it's just a standard door), it was an error in the manufacturing process. I may have received an error, but most likely it failed the first quality check and was instead sent to the second stage of the production process to be glued. I missed the return deadline by 2 days so I chose another brand as a replacement. If the seller sees this and wants to send me another one to show what I received was out of character, I will update this review based on that experience, but at this time I cannot return the product and the pay costs for it. I am leaving my feedback on the broken one I have.
