Review on Black Rubber Feet Stick Bumper by Nathan Kumar

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Two popular sizes, but not universal

I repair computers for a living and am often gifted machines that have had their original rubber feet fall off, so I was thrilled when I found these generic replacement parts. They are certainly very good and come in two sizes that suit many different uses, but they are by no means universal. The larger size is probably best for desktops, although I've also seen them work for things like networking gear, which should be shelf mounted rather than rack mounted. Maybe for desktop network switches and routers too, especially those that didn't have rubber feet. It's nice to have the extra friction so they don't fall off the table. The smaller ones can replace many of the laptop's legs, although you'll likely find that you need to replace both front legs, or both rear legs, or possibly all four, to keep the keyboard level for comfortable typing. The biggest problem I had was with the glue. It just won't stick to some plastics and coatings. The first laptop I used them on was the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 14, for which Lenovo inexplicably doesn't offer interchangeable feet. I was able to mount the smaller legs in place of the original ones, but the pre-applied glue didn't stick to the flex sleeve. I ended up smearing them with epoxy to keep them in place.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
