I had a model from a reputable cable manufacturer (RF Wiring) and spent months trying to figure out the loud relay click and fan rattle. Eventually I realized it was just a lazy transmitter (turning on and off for too long). I ordered this one, the SPAL 185-TS which is what you would use if you had a 160 degree thermostat and it has been working great for over 5 years as of November 2015. The lower your engine temperature, the less likely your engine is to ping. . SPAL 185-TS switches on at 185 degrees and off at 165 degrees. So with a 160 degree thermostat, your fan won't turn on and off as often.
