Riedel is committed to changing the way we think about decanting. Boa is in their young wine line, they don't talk about it but if you watch their videos and read their website they talk about it a lot. It is said that young wine takes a long time in the decanter to open up. The theory here is curves, and a quick pour will help inflate the wine. They managed to pull off the idea, the curves help squirt the wine, and the final drop adds another level of excitement. This really helps younger wines open faster, saving potential hours of waiting. Physically, the glass is heavy and feels solid compared to other decanters. The main downside is cleaning, mine stays stained when water collects, it's not a big deal but you won't be using this thing close to hand as it takes hours to fully dry. I would not recommend Boa for lovers of very old, very thin wines, the violence this design generates would be too much for something so thin.
