Review on Green Drain Waterless Trap Seal Rough Plumbing by Alex Jain

Revainrating 2 out of 5

This waterless siphon is well made and looks like a quality product

Summary Blocks odors well but drains too slowly. This waterless siphon is well made and looks high quality. It was easy to install - just remove the drain cap and plug it in and it seals well. It's also easy to remove by pulling it up from the center. It does an excellent job of getting unpleasant odors down the drains. I think it would be ideal in a floor drain with some water. My rain shower discharges far more water than it can drain, so it accumulates quickly. All in all, it didn't meet my specific needs, so I sent it back immediately. COMPARISON: I also used the SureSeal siphon. The sureseal drain siphon drains water much faster so no water builds up at all. The problem with the sureseal brand is that after about a year of use the valve sags, stops working properly and doesn't block drain/sewer odors. For now, I'll be switching brands from SureSeal each year as needed until I find a more durable product that flows fast enough for my rainfall showerhead.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • dull packaging
