Good things about the brackets

These brackets are as strong as the fuse stand I used them with. You're raising the toolbox significantly, so be aware that doing so will lose some of your view in the rearview mirror. As you can see from the photo, the bracket and toolbox combo takes up more than half of my S10's window. I have a camera that replaced the rearview mirror, so I don't mind that. The problem with the tool box was that it covered my front mounting points. This mount is more than strong enough for me to drill holes for the knobs on my toolbox to get new mounting points which is a huge bonus for me. My tool box is designed to be attached to the bed rails with hooks. These hooks don't catch the bracket, but the longer bolts allow them to reach the bed rails again. I also used shorter bolts with fender washers to attach the toolbox directly to the bracket so everything stays together. Definitely something I should check before starting the install. I had to strap on my tool box to go to the hardware store for longer screws because I didn't realize it until I was installing the rack. I got the brackets on sale, I find the normal price really ridiculously high. But for what I paid I love them.
