Works the way you want it.
Spacer screw/nut does not have good instructions. While holding the bolt with an allen wrench, measure 3/4 in. and turn the nut 9 turns to expand the insert. (I had to crimp the insert lightly to get it into the tailgate slot.) Very easy install after that and works to bring the tailgate down at a good pace. I hope he survives.
