A good camera, worth a little more than it deserves. A good alternative is the Logitech C200. Made simpler, but cheaper and does not require drivers. It is worth looking for additional software so that the child can get more pleasure from communication. Pros below: 1. Good color reproduction and white balance, excellent smoothness (for Skype). 2. Excellent microphone - only the interlocutor is heard and nothing from the background noise. 3. Convenient fastening - both for a flat surface, and for an LCD monitor. 4. Long wire. 5. Turning and tilting "head". 6. Simple and intuitive management software. Its cons: 1. Work only under Windows, the need to download ates and drivers (~ 100 Mb) during installation. 2. Photos are only 640 * 480 with poor quality. 3. Immediately there were 4 large "hot" pixels (constantly lit in blue), when placed on top of the LCD monitor and, as a result, heated, 8 more appeared. Only one of them is really unsightly. 4. The software for working with avatars could be better, so that it would be more interesting for children.
