A 23 year old kitten has had a worrying series of urinary tract infections. Getting in and out of our cleaning robot was becoming increasingly difficult for her. So we bought her her own shallow litter box, filled it with this older litter and gave out puppy pads in case she accidentally missed them. At night we lock her in one of these folding pens with a comfortable bed, water and bedding because she would cry and be confused at night. Since we did this, she hasn't had a bladder infection. The litter absorbs liquid quickly and doesn't seem to stick to paws and lower body like our clumping litter. Everything that flies out of the box is simply cleaned with a vacuum cleaner. One suggestion: when someone picks up the box by the handle, often the lid/handle unscrews. Either make the handle/lid a bit tighter or have none at all?
