Review on Imachinist S1113414 M42 Bi-Metal Bandsaw Blades 111" Long, 3/4" Wide, 0.035" Thick 14 TPI Variable Teeth by Ben Duncan

Revainrating 2 out of 5

This blade did not work for me.

Cut beautifully for about 3 cuts (1" mild steel box tubing, 1/8" wall) then went dead dull. Refused to cut at all, and you could feel that the teeth had been badly rounded over. I have a higher-than-recommended blade speed for this application, so I expect reduced blade life, but I don't think the teeth on this blade were tempered to the proper hardness. I have had better luck with other brands of blade.UPDATE: Seller contacted me, apologized for the poor performance, and sent me a new blade to try at no cost. Could not ask for better customer service. Unfortunately, the second blade also did not perform well in my application. So while I can highly recommend this seller, I can not highly recommend this blade for cutting steel. Probably works well on aluminum, red, and other soft metals.

Pros
  • Blade works well but haven't had it long enough for a thorough review
Cons
  • Limited Usage: The Imachinist S1113414 M42 Bi-Metal Bandsaw Blades are only suitable for cutting through certain materials such as wood, metal, and plastic. Thus, it may not be the best option for those who require a more versatile blade
