Review on High-Performance Linksys Business LAPAC1750 Access Point: Dual Band Wi-Fi 2.4 + 5GHz AC1750 with PoE Support by Nico Ramdeen

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Very bulky, difficult to manage users, setup compared to other competing brands

I bought these APs to compare with unifi ac lr APs to see which one is better in range and speed . First off, installing the ac1200 was a pain. There's no cloud controller so you can turn on the app and find it on the controller and then manage from there. You need to physically connect your computer to the same router that this access point is connected to using an Ethernet cable, then find the IP address of that access point, and then follow the normal process of configuration as if you were using a Linksys or Netgear router. The ac 1200 control panel is very old and more complicated than the Unifi controller. Design: Very clunky, but even slightly higher WiFi range than smaller APs. Speed: The speed was almost the same as unifi ac lr. Time. I say most of the time because my UAP AC LR is 70Mbps down and 15Mbps up the rest of the time and the ac1200 has half of that. . From time to time the UAP AC LR would show full bars and the AC1200 would fluctuate from a full bar to a bar down. Management: I have applied these solutions in a hotel I own. On days like Friday and Saturday I have about 70 people using Wi-Fi and they all need fast internet. Sometimes some people can't connect to Wi-Fi so I have to authorize their device manually. The AC1200 makes this difficult, but on the UNIFI controller I can click "Reconnect" and "Authorize" on the guest device to grant it access.
