They are thick steel of excellent quality. Unfortunately there are no instructions included, 2 threaded screws are missing and for some reason it seems to be tipping down at the back. Also, it would be much better if the connecting struts were an inch or two longer. There is hardly any space for my keyboard. maximum ground clearance 2.5 inches.
