So this device takes your ethernet line and splits it into two outgoing outlets. Only 1 outgoing line can be active at a time. I have one line to my PS4 and another line to my Revain Fire TV. This provides optimal speed and stability (compared to WiFi) for gaming or streaming content from different applications. The only issue (not related to the actual product) is the location of your router as you will need an ethernet cable that fits into your entertainment center/TV stand.
