SLIM: They're a lot thinner than you might expect. They are just over 1/4 inch thick (not quite 8mm). The "one inch thickness" mentioned in the promotional copy must refer to the thickness of the pack of all three panels. SOFT: The plastic cutting surface feels softer than typical HDPE. Cutting, working with any tool on the board (crushing garlic) leaves large indentations. I'm pretty sure I can cut these boards with a basic serrated steak knife. I can't think of an item that will last more than a few months of daily use COUNTERTOP HANDLES: They slide over the entire formica tabletop.
