I'm a bit of an earthquake fan. During the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989, I lost all my dishes. Every plate, bowl and glass is gone. I wish I had them then. These are good latches for seismic resistance. Remember that the cabinet doors should be slightly ajar. I don't have handles on the doors so that's good anyway. I hope we don't get a good shaker any time soon. If we do that, at least I won't lose any more dishes! They were easy to install and quite small so they don't get in the way of storing items in the closets. I highly recommend it - don't wait until you lose your harness in an earthquake to install it.
