Review on 🍚 Aroma Housewares ARC-6206C Professional Digital Rice Cooker: 12-Cup / 4Qt Multicooker with Ceramic Inner Pot, Steam Basket & White Finish by Joe Glass

I had an Aroma Arc-2000 that I bought from Costco years ago. It has served me well over the past few years and still works well. However, the non-stick coating on the inner bowl started peeling off, which made me really uncomfortable when it could actually be completely harmless. Anyway, I started searching hoping to find some kind of rice cooker that didn't use traditional non-stick coating and I found this one. It's a little over my budget. But I decided to try the ceramic inner pot. After all, what could be safer than ceramics? Our ancestors have been using it for at least several thousand years. The ceramic rice cooker did not disappoint. The ceramic inner pot is almost the right weight. Sturdy but not too heavy. So far I've only used it to cook white rice. It did the job well. No more and no less. Cleaning is easy. And I no longer need to remind myself to be careful with non-stick coatings. One surprise is that unlike my old Arc-2000, once the rice is cooked I can't find any traces of rice on the inside of the lid. Cleaning the inside of the lid on my old Arc-2000 was a real hassle because you can't remove the lid from the stove and I have to hold the whole stove in my hand to clean the inside of the lid under running water. With my new ceramic rice cooker I finally no longer have this problem. Maybe it's because the ceramic inner pot transfers heat much more slowly than the old metal inner pot, or some other reason, almost no traces of rice remain on the inside of the lid after cooking. Also, the inside of the lid of my new ceramic rice cooker is actually covered with a metal plate that can be easily removed and washed. The only minor complaint I can have is that my new ceramic rice cooker doesn't have a condensate trap like the old Arc-2000 did. Some condensation always ends up dripping onto the rim of the rice cooker when I open the lid. But also the amount of condensation is much less than the old rice cooker. Maybe that's why the condensate collector was removed from the new design? Anyway, in conclusion, although this ceramic rice cooker is a bit more expensive than my original budget, the ceramic inner bowl definitely makes me feel better and I no longer have to worry about choking on the non-stick coating. The build quality looks good too and I hope it will last for many years like my old Arc-2000.
