I connected them to JBL GTO629 speakers. I had to cut some plastic out of my factory rear covers to fit my 2009 Honda Civic (photo). Also, there is now a slight gap in the door panels near the corner where the speaker grille is, due to the speaker being positioned higher in the door and pushing the panel outwards a bit (pictured). When I compared them to the factory speakers, they turned out to be the same height, diameter and shape, so it's most likely due to the new JBL speakers and not just those panels. When I installed the speaker, I found it difficult to mount it to the door and back panel because the screw was partially hidden by the speaker frame. It was easier to install the panels on the car first and then connect and mount the speakers. Do not lose the included screws as the factory screws will not fit these plates. In the end everything worked for me.
