This connector is perfect for our DC-24 and together with the new brush wand saves us from having to replace the vacuum cleaner. I have read/reviewed several vacuum cleaner repair manuals and all have indicated that either the rod or the end cap will break and damage the other component immediately. Therefore, it is important to replace both components at the same time to avoid damaging the new part during reinstallation. Our vacuum cleaner's horrible death rattle and inadequate cleaning are over and it's working like new again. Installation was easy - it's pretty basic, but there are plenty of helpful YouTube videos to help you out. Overall very happy with the product and no need to buy a new vacuum!
