When this wrench arrived at my office I was surprised when I opened the bag and saw how compact it was. The head section is much thinner than mine thin Tecton 3/8" model and smaller. The only plastic I see is the ring around the head release button. On my dad's 40+ year old wrenches these are metal but with no release buttons, just a directional switch. Also, I can't tell if the directional switch is metal or plastic. I need to find a magnet to be sure. When I look at the directional lever, it looks like metal but feels like plastic. Unfortunately, all wrenches I see today have plastic direction switches. With this Wilmer brand wrench, the switch action is firm with no play or wobble unlike others. In terms of fit and feel, this wrench feels good in the hand and is fairly compact for getting in hard - reaching spots, the sound of the head turning sounds accurate, and the overall condition seems very high quality, I would buy this item without hesitation .
