Review on πŸšͺ Dorman 38433 Upper Door Hinge Pin - Ideal for Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC Models by Justin Spence

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great, door opens and stays

Replaced a bent pin in my 1998 Chevy Z71. Worked great. At the same time, get the spring compression tool. Makes work easier. I only ground the head off the old pin as it was a factory original and didn't have a retaining clip on the end. The original pin was bent once in the head to secure. Used a dremel tool, quick and easy. It took some force to knock the hinge pin out and then reinsert it. I removed the whole door because I was replacing the hinge pins at the same time. The door is level and closes so easily I should have done it a few years ago. Also used 88-02 Chevy GMC Trucks, 4 pins, 2 doors. Pin and bushing kit for replacing bushings and pivots. Save time and just remove the door. I've seen a lot of reviews where people said the bushings were the wrong size. You are not. However, if you leave the door in place on this Chevy model, it will be too difficult to push in if you don't have a door. With the door open, everything enters without damaging the sleeve and is designed to work.
