Review on Zoo Med Betta Log that Floats by Anna Green

Revainrating 4 out of 5

So far, so good. on Aquarium Décor

I've been wearing this in my aquarium for a few days and the product itself is great. the size is good. top hole is good. feels like a strong product. I have a 10 gallon tank and wanted this for my betta. I have some bubble walls and a working filter and thought this would be a good way to feed Lemon without the current washing away his food. The problem was that the current was washing away the log and/or spinning it in circles. Also, the tree trunk sticks out maybe half an inch above the water level. so I can throw food through the hole in the log, but it gets swept away. that's why I deducted a star. To fix this I ended up using some clear "plastic" thread and looped it around the bottom of the log and then tied it to a stone decoration at the bottom of the tank to keep it from floating. I also used another piece of rope to keep it from spinning in circles from the current. I fed the rope through the feeding hole and used a small suction cup with a plastic snap. it holds one side of the log in place. he hasn't moved an inch yet. It can safely swim in and around without being crushed. I probably wouldn't buy this without using some sort of security method. This is too unpredictable in a filter or bubble aquarium.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
