Works as advertised

Water is softer and hard water deposits are less severe than before. It doesn't completely eliminate harshness and my dissolved solids meter reads around 250 before and after installation, so it's not much better, but the spirit level is easier to clean. One time the fabric softener pellet broke off which makes me think I might need a filter after the fabric softener, otherwise it works quite well. Easier to install/maintain than a salt based softener.
