I've been using WD hard drives for years and they're not the only brand I've come across over the years. To be honest, I've never had a hard drive failure or breakage, but I've always been worried and scared of these mechanical components sooner or later, so I've always followed a simple backup plan for whatever I thought was important and it made me want to buy even more hard drives and this black WD 6TB version is the last one I bought. I have to attest that the speed of this hard drive exceeded my own expectations and since it's installed in my desktop case I don't hear any extra noise when it's working. I'm not a gamer but I do a lot of video editing and the files are big and that was my biggest motivation to spend more money on a brand that I trust a lot. For those interested in trying this product and not very familiar with the computer, please note that any hard drive larger than 2TB must be recognized by Windows and this does not happen automatically after installation, so You'll need to open the hard drive's Management Utility and Highlight Drive, which means you'll need to format it, and if you need partitions, that's the next step, until you assign a letter and maybe a brief description to your drive, and then you're all set to do whatever you intend to do with the disk. I totally recommend this seller, but I didn't try their support because nothing bad happened.
