I have Western Digital hard drives that are over 10 years old and (although I don't use them) still work great. After receiving this drive, I ran some tests and then proceeded to copy all my data. No problems everything worked then I confirmed it was there and used it for a day just to make sure nothing weird was happening. Then made the mistake of wiping the original drive and trusting that drive for the hours it would take to back it up again. (because I wanted to use it as a backup for that)
