This was the highest rated USB print server I could find. With Windows 10, my older Cannon D530 printer lost the ability to print easily from other computers in the house other than the one that has a physical USB connection to the printer. I wanted to use my outdated Cannon D530 online again. Windows 10 does not support homegroups like Windows 7. After some trial and error I was able to print over the network using the IOGEAR print server. Here are my suggested steps.1. Make sure the printer driver software (for your printer, not the print server) is already installed on your computer2. Complete all physical steps including connecting IOGEAR to printer, network and power3. Download and install the IOGEAR GPSU21 software. Yes, it works on Windows 10.4. On the Select Print Server screen > note the default IP address > it was originally shown as 192.168.1.242. I know my home network is 192.168.0.x, not 192.168.1.x. I had to change the print server to have an address of 192.168.0.x.5 to work. In the Change Settings window, select Obtain an IP address from a DHCP server. The print server received the IP address 192.168.0.242 from my router. Later I changed it to a static address. I completed the installation and selected the Canon D530 which was previously connected via USB. The printer works normally over the network. I then went to my second computer, just installed the Canon D530 software and entered the IP address 192.168.0.242. I was able to do a test print without installing the IOGEAR software. The print server has a built-in web interface for easy management. Check your router's LAN device screen to find out what IP address the print server captured. Use the embedded web interface to change the IP address to static or DHCP. Once you know the print server's IP address, it's fairly easy to add it to any Windows computer on your network. I set a static IP address to prevent the router from accidentally moving the IP address which could cause Windows to lose connection to the print server. Works great with Windows 10!
