Nikki has had this collar for 2 years now so I thought I could give a pretty accurate estimate. She wears the collar 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a week, except when taking a bath. This happens weekly because she is very busy outside. She is not a very active dog, but she is active with half an acre to patrol through hedges, under bushes, and anywhere there might be lizards or critters. I wash the collar with soap and water in the kitchen every few months because, like her, the collar gets very dirty! .and then let it air dry, usually on the patio. The fabric sewn to the woven collar does not crumble. As you can see from the photos the buckle has turned purple (it was pink like a collar) but is still secure and functional. The collar itself still has a very nice color. When the time comes, I will definitely buy this brand again.
