There are much cheaper crimps out there but I bought them because they contain a compounding component which I feel is important to get the best possible crimp. I accidentally dug into the line of my underground sprinkler system, and while this tool and the matching ear clamps (FYI, clamps that end at 19 for a 1 inch pipe) were expensive to purchase, it's still cheaper than calling a sprinkler repair technician to make repairs. Comparing the original ear clips to the ones I installed, they look exactly the same.
