I thought maybe one of them was too soft so I used them all. They all went flat at the end of 5 days. I paint with medium pressure so I'm not too heavy handed, but once they flatten out they don't stay smooth unlike apple feathers, they feel rough and scratchy. The only reason I added the star was because the springs were smooth and slippery when new. If you want that smoothness, get a feel for the line art and don't be afraid to toss the pen soon after you feel good until it flattens out on both sides. Also, I got it for good reviews and the company pays 10 Amazon gift cards if you leave a good review, so now I don't know if I trust Amazon reviews. giggle
